Don’t Miss Out on Purple Rugs
Are you worried about using the color purple in your new color scheme? It can be a little scary if you are not used to strong colors but it is a shame to miss out on all that this rich color has to offer especially when you look at the huge variety of purple rugs available these days in every shade from the palest lilac to the darkest aubergine.
The main thing to know is that you do not have to use a great deal of purple to get the benefit of it. A small purple rug here, a vase there, a few cushions and you are good to go but if you want a little more guidance than that here are a couple of ready made color schemes to help you along.
Royal Purple
The brightest shade of purple is the one that most of us think about when we think of purple and it is this shade which you should use in small doses. Used in moderation, however it will give your interior a boost and bring it to life. Mix it with natural floors and white woodwork and walls and use a few accent colors such as silver metallic and jade.
Aubergine
This dark almost black purple shade is moody and dramatic and looks great as a feature wall (using patterned wallpaper) in a contemporary living area. This color looks great in combination with pale cream and beige and if you can get a rug in exactly those shades you have a great ready made scheme. It also works well with black, white and gray giving an otherwise monochromatic scheme a bit of welcome color.
Lilac
This palest of purples looks great as the base color for a romantic bedroom. Team it with faded sugar almond shades such as cream, pale beige and pale pink for a sweet as candy color scheme.
